What this site does and does not collect

No accounts, no tracking

There is nothing to sign up for on thebible.help. The site has no user accounts, no newsletter, no comment system, no advertising, no analytics scripts and no social-media embeds. It does not set cookies for tracking and does not build a profile of you. Reading a study here leaves no trace with us.

The Scribe study assistant

Scribe is provided to help you understand the Bible. The assistant is not a person; it is software that answers from Scripture and public-domain Christian sources. Scribe answers from Scripture and public-domain Christian sources. It is a study aid, not a pastor or a church.

When you ask Scribe a question, the text of your question and its replies are sent to the assistant service so that it can respond and keep the thread of the conversation. To do that, a random conversation identifier is kept in your browser's session storage; it is discarded when you close the tab. Nothing you type is used to identify you, and you are never asked for your name, email address or any personal details. Please do not include information about yourself that you would not want stored with the conversation.

The assistant's fixed entry point is loaded from chat.thebible.help. It renders the dialog you see and nothing else.

Images and fonts

Photographs are served from img.thebible.help. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the ordinary web request needed to deliver a font file; no other information is sent to it by this site.

Your rights

Because the site holds no personal data about its readers, there is nothing to export or delete. If you believe something about you has been stored through a conversation with Scribe and you would like it removed, write to contact@thebible.help and it will be dealt with.

If any of the above changes, this page will change with it, and the change will be dated here.
